So what are you doing right now? Are you sitting at work and just checking some frequently visited sites? Are you just waking up this morning and doing the same? Well, let me ask you this. If you’re in Halifax, what is your mood like right now? I can tell you one thing, my mood is sh*t right now, and hasn’t been super great for weeks. Why is this you ask? Because the weather f*ckin sucks. And it’s not just the point that the weather hasn’t been that great and I haven’t been able to do outdoor activities like water polo or naked water skiing that maybe I was contemplating doing….maybe I wasn’t at all but that’s not the point. What it really is is just the overall fact that I look out my window and it’s foggy or raining. It’s the fact that I still have to wear a jacket. It’s the fact that I have to keep my window closed at night. It’s even the fact that I have never really had to use my new air conditioning in my new car.
This weather affects me mentally. You witness dismal, sh*t weather all f*ckin winter and you just look forward to a nice hot summer where you can drive around with your windows down after cleaning and waxing your car. You want to be able to meet friends on a Sunday afternoon at the patio and have some rooftop drinks. You want to be able to go camping and swimming on the weekend. But can you do that….not really. It’s not he same sitting on a patio if the sky is grey and you have a f*ckin jacket on. What fun is it camping if you’re bundled up next to the campfire all night and sleeping in a sweater? Why go swimming if you’re gonna freeze your ass doing so? Its f*ckin July!
I’m really getting discouraged about the lack of brutal hotness. I love it extremely hot, like uncomfortable hot. I can’t stand it when people start bitchin' about how hot it is. Look, you complain all winter about the cold and the snow, shut the f*ck up when you get some heat. Another thing that is totally unfortunate is the lack of skimpiness. Where are all the sundresses, tight little tops, and barely-there everything? It’s just not right not having access to this stuff. It’s wrong in so many ways.
I’ve been quite busy with everything so I really didn’t take note of how much we are already into our prime weather. July is half over already. I know some people will think, “Well, we will get a nice August.” But should we really be doing that. Should we anticipate four or five weeks of nice weather out of the 12 months of the year? It makes we wonder how much this bad weather influences everybody. Bad weather means sh*tty moods. Sh*tty moods means no one wants to do anything. No one wanting to do anything means businesses like restaurants and bars suffer financially.
If we ever get another nice weekend with clear skies, minimal wind, and temperatures over 28 degrees, just enjoy your day. When that day is over reflect on how you feel. I bet you were happy and energetic. I bet you even got up a little earlier that day, and went to bed a little later than usual. You have to take advantage of these days. We only have so many.
